Affinity-Enrichment Mass Spectrometry with Mass Defect Tags for Biomarker Validation

Abstract
This presentation covers the use of affinity pre-enrichment of low-abundance biomarkers prior to mass spectrometric and capillary electrophoretic analysis. These methods allow the detection of protein isoforms that are often overlooked in immunoassays. The application of isotope-differentiated binding energy shift tags (IDBEST™) allows quantitation of the relative abundances of different isoforms between samples.
